Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Frosting

Serves Enough frosting for 24 cupcakes     adjust servings



  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract or vanilla paste
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 (10 ounce) bag mini chocolate chips


Add the butter, brown sugar and powdered sugar to a large mixing bowl.  Mix on medium high 3 minutes.  This will help with the grainy texture of the brown sugar.  Add the vanilla, flour and salt.  Mix an additional 3 minutes on medium high.  This will incorporate air to the frosting.  Fold in the chocolate chips.
