Classic Sugar Cookie Dough Frosting

Yields Makes enough to frost 12 cupcakes     adjust servings

 

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla paste or vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl add the butter and shortening.  Mix until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).  Add the sugar, vanilla, flour and salt.  Mix on low to combine until the flour has absorbed the butter mixture.  Slowly add the milk.  Turn mixture onto medium high, mix 3 minutes or until light and fluffy.
