I don’t know about you but growing up in a “Southern” home my mom (and grandma) always had a pot of bacon grease close by (and still does). Of course back then it was totally acceptable to add a spoonful of bacon grease to EVERYTHING! Now a days with a lot of us not as mobile as we once were (I used to walk EVERYWHERE…to school to work..) and gaining knowledge about what fat does to our heart I don’t have such a thing in my kitchen. Although I will admit to being guilty of having a jar of brown butter in my refrigerator to use now and then.

Thank you for the recipe. Do you think it will freeze ok? I have frozen regular butter and it comes out ok. If not, how long will the brown butter last in the fridge? I normally do not bake that often.
Hi Anjuli, I’ve never frozen brown butter. If I had to guess I would think if regular butter can be frozen so can brown butter.
So, unlike drawn butter, we do NOT remove the foam to finish this?
No, the foam will dissipate.
Would salted butter work ok?
Hi Brandy, Salted butter works the same as unsalted. Remember you will be also adding salt to the brown butter if you use salted butter.
How long does the brown butter keep in the refrigerator?

Hi John, Browned butter tastes completely different then regular butter, When you brown butter it takes on a nutty flavor and is incredible.
