HALLOWEEN SPIDER LIGHT CENTERPIECE SUPPLIES
multiple sizes of wide mouth jars
batter operated white lights I used LED Cool White Mini String Lights
spider web
spiders
DIRECTIONS
Spread out a piece of spider web and lay the lights on top. Wrap the web around the lights.
Turn the lights on then lay the battery pack in the bottom of the jar or standing up if the jar is small. LET’S TALK ABOUT THE AMAZING LIGHTS I used in this centerpiece! First, I love the fact that they are a bright white and not a warm white. Second, the case is clear (makes it super easy to hide). Third, and the most important feature is…..THEY HAVE A TIMER! I know! I LOVE it! The lights are from Oriental Trading.
Once they are turned on they will turn themselves off in about 6 hours and if left in timer mode will turn back on at the same time the next day! Isn’t that cool?
Using a long narrow instrument (I used a chop stick) push the webbing around the lights and down to the bottom of the jar. Push the web back using your instrument and insert the spider.
NOTE: I found these awesome spiders at Michaels. They are in the baking section with the cupcake toppers. If you can’t find these particular spiders any creepy spider will do.

I love this! We decorate the outside of the house like crazy for Halloween and these would be a great addition for Halloween night for the trick-or-treaters.
what kind of lighting did you use and where can I get it? I need enough for a classroom project for 22 kids per class x 3 classes! so I would need to buy 66 lights and keep it affordable. Any suggestions??
Hi Desiree, My lights were from Oriental Trading (the link is in the post). For something more affordable I would try dollar tree. They usually carry battery operated string lights. I know for sure they have battery operated tea lights. You can get two per package.

Hi Jennifer,
Thanks, they have just the right amount of creepy but not too much scary. 🙂
The spiders are givinig me the chills even though I know they are not real! Great idea for decorating.:)
This is such a cool idea, Sheryl! 🙂
Thank you for sharing it at this week’s HalloWonderful Link Party!
What do you use as the spiderweb?
Hi Rose, I used a bag of store bought Halloween spider webs.
these are awesome thank you,
Thanks Francis Ann! 🙂
Love the simplicity, low cost and perfect amount of “eek” without being TOO scary for my kids 🙂 Though they’re scaring me a bit for sure! 😉
Me too Anna! 🙂
Awesome idea! Do you think this could be done with an individual battery operated tea light instead? Or would it not produce enough light? Thanks!
I don’t think it will produce enough light Michelle. 🙂
