Typically a caramel frosting requires you to boil the sugar and butter, and is more of a pouring frosting. Meaning the frosting is meant to be poured over a cake while the frosting is still hot. With only THREE ingredients! The star of this frosting is a can of Nestle Dulce de Leche. Super easy to make and can be spread or pipped on 24 cupcakes, a 2 layered cake or a sheet cake. Easy No Boil Caramel Frosting
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 (13.4 ounce) can Nestle Dulce de Leche (caramel)
- 5 cups powdered sugar
In a large mixing bowl, mix butter until light and fluffy. Add the caramel and continue to mix until light a fluffy. Add the sugar 1 cup at a time. Beat together until all the sugar has been incorporated and is light and fluffy (about 3 minutes) You want to get air into the frosting. Either pipe or spread onto cupcakes, 2 layered cake, sheet cake or cookies!
