The Best and Easiest Salsa — 32 Comments

  1. I made this for a potluck and it was amazing!! Now making it again for New Years! Thank you!

    P.S. The 2 jalapeno without the seeds made it real spicy so I’m going to start off the new batch with no jalapeno and then add as necessary.

    I also added in a little fresh lime juice. 🙂

    • Hi Steph, Sorry it was too spicy. You must of gotten hold of some spicy jalapenos. I’m a wimp when it comes to hot foods and it was fine for me. Thanks for the great suggestions. 🙂

  2. My family loved it…ate it all up in one day. Do you think this could be canned/preserved? How would I go about doing this?

  3. Made this recipe and I used a little too much cilantro for my liking, but my family thought it was outstanding! I’m one of those ten percenters that cilantro tastes like soap though. It was pretty much gone in two days! Thanks for the recipe!

    • That’s awesome Rich. I like how much this recipe makes. That way you can separate it…add a jalapeno with seeds and make a hot version. 🙂

  4. I just made this salsa. It is very very good. I had a little hiccup I doubled the suger not seeing I did so. It’s spicy sweet. But tastes so good. Will share with friends and family.

  5. Sorry im confused, what are you referring to when you say pulse tomato and juice? Is that the can of diced tomatoes alone? ALSo after that it says take half out…does that mean you dont use that at all so its really 14 ounces that you use?
    Can’t wait to try! Thanks 🙂

    • Hi Angela,
      You pulse all the tomatoes including the rotel with the juice that’s in the can. You take half of the tomatoes out of the food processor while you continue to pulse in the remaining ingredients and then add the tomatoes back into the salsa. This gives the salsa some texture.

  6. Family will love this but for our 2 son-in-laws and grandson I will have to make it Hot. The hotter it is the better they like it.( if it doesn’t make them sweat, than it isn’t hot enough for them) (I think they must have iron stomachs. :}
    I’m thinking abut making this in advance and then freezing it in freezer safe containers.
    Thanks for sharing this easy peasy recipe.

    • You’re Welcome Colleen. I love how versatile this salsa recipe is…all you have to do is drop in some hot peppers and blend it with the salsa. That’ll make them sweat. ♥
