If you’ve never tried brown butter you are in for a very pleasant surprise. You can transform recipes and do wonders with a jar of boiled butter. That’s essentially what brown butter is. A few sticks of butter gently boiled until it turns a wonderful brown color and with that, a delicious nutty flavor. Brown Butter Glazed Pecan Crescent Cookies
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup ground pecans
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
For the Brown Butter Glaze
- 1/4 cup brown butter (link below)
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 3 tablespoons water
For the Pecan Crescent Cookies:
Mix butter until creamy, add the flour, nuts, 1/2 cup sugar, salt and extracts. Mix until well combined. Refrigerate covered 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375°. Shape cookie dough into crescents. Bake 12-15 minutes. When cool completely on a wire rack. Dip tops of the cookies into the brown butter glaze; place on wire rack to harden.
For the Brown Butter Glaze:
