Bring some life to the back of each guests chair by hanging their very own sombrero! I purchased my sombrero hats from Oriental Trading.
It’s all about layers for this dinner table. Staring with the color scheme, brightly colored items bring a sparkle of festive fun. It’s all about the centerpiece. For this table I decided to run the centerpiece all the way down the center. This brought a lot of interest to the table. Below I will list all the items with links so you too can create a fun colorful fiesta party dinner table.
REMEMBER….I KNOW I GO OVER THE TOP FOR THESE PARTY TABLES. THE REASON I DO THAT IS NOT THAT I EXPECT YOU TO DO ALL THE THINGS BUT MAYBE YOU CAN TAKE SOME OF THE IDEAS AND USE THEM. ♥
One of my absolute favorite ways to dress up a table is probably the cheapest decoration. That’s with colored rice. It’s super easy and it can be customized to fit your color scheme. I used mason jars I already had, battery operated tea lights (I also already had) from Dollar Tree and the cheapest long grain rice I could get.
It’s a great way to not only add pops of color but also another layer of interest. Each guest got their own! Click here to find out how easy it is to color rice—->>>>HOW TO COLOR RICE
Two larger mason jars filled with a combination of all the colored rice were placed at each end of the table. One jar was filled with Sriracha suckers and the other with Prickly Pear suckers. Again, another layer and a party favor!
HOMEMADE SRIRACHA SUCKERS (link) These cute little spicy suckers make the perfect party favor or fun treat.
HOMEMADE PRICKLY PEAR CACTUS SUCKERS (link) A fun delicious and unique flavor of lollipop that fits right in with a western or fiesta party!
Starting from the bottom and building up is the Woven Fiesta Serape Table Runner (link). The runner is so festive and affordable. Now the centerpiece. I used a bowl shaped clay pot from the shed and added foam blocks for the plants. I purchased the plant at Hobby Lobby and the Tereciatas Paper Flowers from Amol’s. The flowers are in bright colors all shaped well and can be taken apart into individual flowers. To add heaviness to the centerpiece I topped the foam with polished rocks.
Going down each side of the centerpiece were Small Mexican Guitars, Mini Piñatas, Small Folklorico Dancer. For a little extra color I weaved in and out a garland made from small poms poms. To find out how to make a garland click here—->>>>HOW TO MAKE A POM POM GARLAND
Plates (of course), I found some fun clear plastic ones at Party City. For the drink cups I used mason jars and filled them with all the necessary items my guest would need. The napkin was a Neon Bandana I purchased from Oriental Trading. Cutlery in my color scheme was from Party City along with the mustache straw and fussy mustache.
Each guest also had a Maracas made out of a dried gourd and their own metal bucket filled with ice and either a Mexican Beer or Mexican Soda topped with a Mini Mexico Sombrero.
